In 1914, as the British military prepared to spend their first Christmas in the trenches of the Western front, Princess Mary had the idea that each and every soldier should recieve a gift from the British public. The gift would be a brass commerative tin containing either tobacco and cigarettes, or a notebook pencil and some chocolate. The pencil was designed to look like a bullet made of brass and sterling silver.
This very practical and fine writing call point pen is based on the original pencil design, and it is still the perfect gift.
